Carolina Hurricanes forward prospect Jackson Blake has been named a top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, which is given annually to the best men's college hockey player.
The North Dakota sophomore has 21 goals and 57 points in 38 games this season which trails only San Jose Shark prospect and Boston College forward Will Smith (58 points).
Blake also has five game-winning goals and five power play goals this season.
Selected by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2021 draft, Blake has continue to develop at an exciting rate being a consistent offensive threat all over the ice for Fighting Hawks.
Blake is the 27th player in program history to be a top-10 Hobey Baker finalist and he's currently on pace to be the first player in school history to reach the 60-point mark in a single season since Brock Boeser (2015-16) and the first to hit the 100-point mark in their first two seasons since Zach Parise (2003-04).
Not bad company,
Blake was also named a finalist for the NCHC Player of the Year.
The second round of fan voting will run from today until March 31 and the three finalists will be revealed on April 4 with the winner announced on April 12.
