With the Canes two starters dealing with injuries, the team need to call on its depth.

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that they have recalled netminder Yaniv Perets from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

Perets, 24, has a 1-2-0 record in three AHL games this year along with a 0.825 save percentage and a 3.67 goals against average.

With Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov both sidelined, the Canes had just a single goaltender, Spencer Martin, for this weekend's back-to-back against the Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Blues so they needed to call up someone.

There's a good chance that Martin winds up playing both games, but Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour also said that Kochetkov is truly day-to-day, meaning he still could be ready by as early as tomorrow or the next day.
