Carolina Hurricanes Seth Jarvis will not play tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights due to what the team is calling an upper-body injury.

The 22-year-old forward, who has four goals and 11 points in 13 games, has been seen in recent games grimacing on the bench in pain and talking with head athletic trainer Doug Bennett.

Last season, Jarvis played the majority of the season on a torn labrum and rotator cuff on his right shoulder however he did not have surgery to repair it, instead opting to try and rehab it naturally.

While there's no confirmation that this is what he's dealing with and it's just speculation at this point (the broadcast stated he was day-to-day currently), Jarvis has also gone back to wearing the shoulder sling he sported for most of last season on that same shoulder.

Regardless of what exactly Jarvis is dealing with, his absence is a big blow to the Canes as they rely on him to be an impact player in all situations.

In Jarvis' place, forward Tyson Jost will make his Hurricanes debut alongside Jack Drury and Jackson Blake.
