
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed Finnish forward Juha Jaaska to a one-year entry-level contract.
The deal which is for next season, will pay Jaaska $775,000 at the NHL level and $82,500 at the AHL level. The deal also includes a $75,000 signing bonus.
“Juha is a veteran forward who brings energy and intensity to every shift,” said Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell in a press release. “He’s performed consistently in Finland, and we’re excited to see what he can do in North America.”
Playing with HIFK this season, the 26 year old had 10 goals and 30 points in 57 games and five goals and seven points in seven postseason games.
He also served as an alternate captain for HIFK this year.
Over his Liiga career, the 6'0" forward has 51 goals and 142 points in 310 games.
He also won gold with the Finnish U18 Team at the 2016 World Championships and again in 2018 with the World Junior Team.
