The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that they will be donating all of the ticket revenue from Wednesday's pre-season game against the Nashville Predators to directly benefit the relief efforts in western North Carolina related to the impact of Hurricane Helene.
The devastating storm ripped through the southeast, hitting the western portion of the state and surrounding region with unprecedented flooding and damage.
The game is a discounted ticket night, with all tickets $10, and while parking will be complimentary, the Canes will also accept donations there.
In addition, the Canes will also be holding a silent auction, select concessions will go towards supporting the relief efforts and the team also expects to announce more details prior to Wednesday’s game on additional ways they will be offering support.
Hurricanes president Doug Warf also released this statement on X, stating that the team will continue to look for ways to support the recovery efforts throughout the year:
"So many of us have friends, family and fond memories in Western NC & Upstate SC. We're all starting to hear the stories about generational homes being washed away and damage that can only be described as apocalyptic & catastrophic. I'm glad we can start our assistance this week. Our team is working on ways that we can continue providing assistance throughout the year. The physical and mental recovery will take time and it's yet to truly begin. I love that our team, from owner down, are not only behind these efforts, but actively encouraging them.
