The Carolina Hurricanes finally know who they'll be facing in the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
After the New York Islanders 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils and the New York Rangers' 4-0 win over the Ottawa Senators, all three of the Metro Division positions were locked in.
The Rangers took the Metropolitan with 114 points, Carolina will finish in second with between 111-113 and the Isles sit in third with 92.
Even with one more game left, none of the three Metro teams can move positions so that means the Canes will once again be facing the Isles.
The two teams squared off in last year's first round too with the Hurricanes winning the series in six games.
It will also be the third time in six seasons that the two teams have met in the postseason with Carolina also having beaten them in a 4-0 sweep in the second round in 2019.
This season, the Hurricanes went 2-1-1 against New York.
We'll have plenty more coverage of the Hurricanes' first round matchup so be sure to stay tuned.
