The Carolina Hurricanes have traded defensive prospect Cade Webber to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Webber was a 2019, fourth-round pick who is playing for Boston University in the NCAA.

The 6-foot-7 blueliner is currently unsigned and it's unlikely that the team would sign him, so it's good for the team to recoup some assets.

Webber had one goal and 16 points in four seasons with the Terriers, but is a physical defender who eats shots.

The Leafs have until Aug. 15 to sign him.
