The 24-year-old center was injured in the first period of Carolina's 3-2 win over the Sharks on Tuesday.

It looks like the Carolina Hurricanes are going to be dealing with yet another injury.

Center Jack Drury left Tuesday night's game early following the first period in which he played just 3:06.

While not confirmed, the injury most likely occurred when he blocked a shot from Klim Kostin 12:48 into the period.

The team then announced at the start of the second period that Drury would miss the remainder of the game with an upper-body injury.

Following the game, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour commented that Drury's injury did "not look good" and that he could be "out for a while."

"I don't have [an update] yet, but it's not looking good if I was to say something," Brind'Amour said. "I'm assuming he's going to be out for a while. We don't know for sure yet, though."

Drury, 24, has three goals and nine points this season while averaging 13:31 of ice time per game and his 56.6% faceoff win percentage leads the team among centers.

He's been a staple at 5v5, the power play and the penalty kill so while he's mostly a depth player, his loss still won't be an easy one to swallow if he indeed misses an extended period of time.
