The trio of finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, otherwise known as the Hat Trick, given annually to college hockey's top men's player was announced today and Carolina Hurricanes forward prospect Jackson Blake was one of the finalists.

Blake, 20, has put together a tremendous sophomore season at the University of North Dakota with 22 goals and 60 points.

He ranks fourth in the NCAA and first in the NCHA in points and his 38 assists is third in the country.

The Fighting Hawk sophomore was also named both the NCHA Player and Forward of the Year after breaking the previous conference scoring record with 37 points in 24 games. 

Blake is also the seventh player in program history to earn this distinction. 

The other two finalists include Anaheim Ducks prospect and Boston College forward Cutter Gauthier, who leads the NCAA in scoring, and projected 2024 first-overall pick and Boston University forward Macklin Celibrini. 

The winner will be announced on April 12 during the NCAA Frozen Four which will air on NHL Network.
