© Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports - Michael Bunting, Brendan Lemieux and Rod Brind'Amour on Road Win: 'We just stuck to our game and stuck with the process'

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

Game Recap: Hurricanes Outpace Flyers in 4-1 Win

Michael Bunting, Brendan Lemieux, Seth Jarvis and Jesperi Kotkaniemi all scored for Carolina, while Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 27 of 28 in the win.

After the game, head coach Rod Brind'Amour along with Bunting and Lemieux spoke with the media. Here's what they had to say:

    Rod Brind'Amour

On the team's performance: Obviously the win is great. I thought we didn't really have too many lulls in there. We had a couple shifts that weren't really good, but for the most part, we stuck to the game plan we needed to and pulled it out.

On Brendan Lemieux: [Lemieux] came in for Svechnikov and I thought he was really good. That line was really good. Obviously got a goal, got rewarded for it, but they had good zone time and created a lot of havoc down there. So they certainly did their job.

On Michael Bunting: We moved Bunts up and obviously he cashed in with a goal. I thought he was really good too. Noticeable, and that's what... when you're playing with the top guys, that's kind of what you expect and I thought he did a great job.

On Lemieux: He's been really good about it. I think he's learned over the years and certainly matured as a player. It's a tough role to be in when you're that guy, but I think if he can handle it like he did tonight, it bodes well certainly for us. He was good.

On Pyotr Kochetkov: The one goal was a breakaway, you can't blame him. Kind of a weird play with the guy coming off a late change and just the bounces went perfect. They made a nice play, but on the rest, he made some big saves in the third, especially because it was a tight game. Those couple of grade-As they had... that's the difference in the game. He makes those saves and keeps us in the lead and not having to change what we're doing.

    Michael Bunting

On moving up to the top line: I thought we played well together. Obviously they're two good players and I thought we connected well. We were able to produce a couple of times. That's my game. I can play anywhere in the lineup and I'm very confident wherever I am too. Anytime I get the opportunity, I'm going to roll with it.

On what went right for the team: I think we just stuck to our game and stuck with the process of creating chances when we had the puck and putting a little stress on them. I thought it was an all around good game. It was a close one till the end and then we were able to squeak one out with Jarvy. That's good momentum going into these next couple of home games.

On Brendan Lemieux: He's a funny guy. He's a great guy to have around the room and he's always talking and bringing the energy. Everyone was happy for him obviously. He's been out for a little bit here, but he's put the work in. He came in and I thought he had a great game every shift. I think that whole line was very effective every time they were out there. They were mostly in the offensive zone creating chances and creating havoc. It was nice that he was rewarded tonight.

On Pyotr Kochetkov: [Kochetkov] was unbelievable for us tonight. I thought he was calm in the net and he was really controlled. He made some big saves when we needed them because it was such a tight game until the end. Kudos to [Kochetkov].

    Brendan Lemieux

On getting back into the lineup: It was just another game. I've played plenty of them. We have a really good group here and I'm happy to be here, so anytime I get a chance to play and contribute I'm excited about it. Another two points as we enter the end of the beginning of the season here.

On being ready to go: I'm just blessed to be in a place where I have a coach who takes good care of me. You can always tell the difference between a guy who cares and one who doesn't. I can tell Roddy cares about us as people and as players. I have all the time in the world for a coach like that, so I'm just happy to be here around this group. It's a really good, deep group and I want to help contribute later in the season and in the playoffs. If it means sitting out games and waiting for my chances, so be it. Just try to push the group and give everybody a laugh off the ice and enjoy my time contributing and being a depth guy.

On the team's game: I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't perfect, but we're starting to find it. You can kind of see little things starting to come together and the new guys are starting to mesh a little bit better each and every night. We're starting to get it. My linemates have played really well in the last month. Noesen, Drury and a few other guys have slotted in on that line and they've done a good job adjusting which isn't easy, but they've been able to play some really solid, good defensive hockey and be hard to play against. They're growing and that depth really helps a group, especially later in the year.

On when he found out he would be playing: In the afternoon. You generally have a decent idea. No coach wants to just drop it on a player. Unfortunate circumstance is really all it is, but you do have to be a pro.

On if he felt like the team could have scored even more goals: I felt like we had a few that definitely could have went, so we could have put up a few more, for sure. We got a couple though. It doesn't always go in so it's a give and take, but I definitely think it was a solid effort from us. That's a good hockey team over there, same sort of team they put on the ice last year but there's a lot more veteran guys and they're solid, so you have to give them more credit too.
