The Carolina Hurricanes are sitting Michael Bunting tonight due to "trade-related reasons."
Bunting, 28, has 13 goals and 36 points in 60 games this season.
He just signed a three-year deal this offseason, with a $4.5 million AAV and holds a 10-team no-trade list.
There's the obvious connection between Bunting and Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas, who were together for multiple years in Toronto.
After jumping around the lineup for a while, Bunting has found consistency on the second line with Jack Drury and Martin Necas. He's also been a big boost on the top power play unit.
The wait is on to see what may come from this move.
