The 28-year-old winger missed Carolina's last game due to a lower-body injury.

After Carolina Hurricanes forward Mikko Rantanen was forced to miss his team's last game before the 4 Nations Face-Off break, there was some real worry over his status for the tournament.

Rantanen took a puck off of the knee late in Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Wild and then missed Saturday's game against Utah with a lower-body injury.

The superstar winger, who leads all active Finnish players in goals with 288 (second in points with 683), would be a huge loss for Team Finland if he can't go, but luckily, it seems like he's going to be okay.

Following the team's first practice day, Team Finland coach Antti Pennanen confirmed that Rantanen is expected to play.

Finland's defensive group has already been decimated by injuries with superstar Miro Heiskanen out following knee surgery and also missing both Rasmus Ristolainen and Jani Hakanpaa.

Suomi can't afford any more injuries so it's good for them that Rantanen seems to be good to go. Finland's first game is Feb. 13 against Team USA.
