The NHL has announced that the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers will start their second round series on Sunday, May 5 at 4 p.m. EST.
The game will be televised on ESPN.
With the Rangers having won the Presidents' Trophy as the NHL's top team, the series will start in New York for Games 1 and 2.
This will be the first time the Canes will start the second round as the road since 2020.
While the NHL hasn't officially announced anything past that, MSG has the New York Knicks at home on Monday and Wednesday as well as a Billy Joel concert on Thursday so it's clear that Tuesday, May 7 will be the date for Game 2.
In the first round, the Hurricanes defeated the New York Islanders in five games and the Rangers swept the Washington Capitals in four games, so both teams will be entering the series rested.
