The Hurricanes AHL affiliate the Chicago Wolves kick off their 2024-2025 season tomorrow night against the Milwaukee Admirals

Heading into training camp this September, Hurricanes prospects Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger-Sorum had aspirations of making the big club and playing in the NHL. With the abundance of talent and depth on the Carolina Hurricanes roster that didn't happen, but the pair will instead be big contributors for the Chicago Wolves

After being cut from the Carolina Hurricanes roster last week, Nadeau and Sorum reported to Chicago to prepare for the upcoming AHL season. Now, after a tough camp and preseason with the Carolina Hurricanes and some preseason games in the AHL, the pair are ready to make their AHL debuts tomorrow night in Milwaukee.

Unger-Sorum, 19, will be making his pro North American debut after spending the last couple of seasons playing for Leksands IF of the SweHL. Unger-Sorum put up an impressive 15 points in 35 games after making the jump from Leksands Jr team.

The former 2nd round pick in the 2023 NHL draft had played the wing in this time playing in Sweden, but at Hurricanes training camp last month in September head coach Rod Brind'Amour moved him to center, where he impressed the Canes bench boss.

''We definitely see a skilled player there that sees the ice well and maybe has a good makeup to be a good center. He's going to be a good player so we'll just see how that develops."

Joining Unger-Sorum in making his debut in the AHL as well is former 2023 1st round pick Bradly Nadeau.

Nadeau, also 19, wrapped up a short, but yet productive collegiate career last season prior to turning pro. Nadeau played for the University of Maine last season where he led the Black Bears in points, scoring 46 points in 37 games played. After leaving Maine, Nadeau played in one game last season to close out the Hurricanes regular season.

Unger-Sorum and Nadeau both figure to be key components of the Wolves head coach Cam Abott.

While the main priority under Abott will to be win games for the Wolves, there is no doubt that the goal for the pair of Hurricanes' prospects will be to further develop their games to hopefully earn a re-call to the NHL at some point this season.

You can catch the Wolves taking on the Admirals at Allstate Arena tomorrow night at 7:00 PM on FloHockey.
