Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for February.

Kochetkov has taken hold of the starting crease in Carolina and has been pushing the team forward as one of the league's best goalies.

In February alone, Kochetkov had a 5-3-0 record with a 0.940 save percentage and 1.71 save percentage. He also had two shutouts, one against the New Jersey Devils and the other against the Florida Panthers.

On the year, the 2019 second-round pick has a 16-10-3 record with a 0.911 save percentage and 2.35 goals against average.

It is Kochetkov's second Rookie of the Month honor with the Russian netminder having earned the honor in December of 2022.

This season, Kochetkov has been playing at an elite level since December and he's a big reason why Carolina is once again looking like an elite playoff contender.

And being that he's still a rookie, he really should be getting more Calder buzz.
