The Canes coach gave an update on two of the team's injured players.

The Carolina Hurricanes took the ice for practice Monday morning with the full roster participating.

It was Brendan Lemieux's second day at practice since missing time due to an undisclosed injury and Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour said that he's close to being an option again.

"I don't think he's been cleared yet but he's had a good couple days so hopefully he'll get the green light," Brind'Amour said.

Riley Stillman, 26, was also on the ice for practice although he continues to participate in a yellow, non-contact jersey.

Stillman, who signed a one-year, two-way, league minimum contract, has been in the non-contact jersey since the start of training camp due to a lower-body injury.

"He's coming off one of those injuries that takes a long time," Brind'Amour said. "You don't want to rush it. When Svech had the injury, he practiced for a long time before we let him go. So that ones still a wait and see."

But Brind'Amour is glad to see Stillman at least able to participate.

"Anytime you can, especially if you're just rehabbing an injury, it's definitely good that he can still be in the mix here and do most of the stuff we're doing," Brind'Amour said.

The Canes will be back in action tomorrow night as they take on the New Jersey Devils.
