Andrei Svechnikov Returns to Practice

What - Game 49 (28-15-5)
When - 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6
Where - PNC Arena; Raleigh, NC
How to Watch - Bally Sports South, Sportsnet Pacific

The Carolina Hurricanes had a relaxing week off, but now we'll see if it was beneficial.

The Canes will be tossed straight into the fire coming out of the All-Star break as they'll face the league-leading Vancouver Canucks (33-11-5).

Carolina was riding a three-game winning streak heading into the break, so hopefully they can keep that mojo going.

They received a bit of good news on the injury front as it seems goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is fully back and looks poised to get the start in net tonight, however forward Andrei Svechnikov is still not ready.

Svechnikov last played on Jan. 19 and has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury.

While he's close to returning and has been skating in practice, he isn't quite there yet.

The Canucks entered the break on an 11-game point streak and basically their entire team didn't have the chance to build-up any rust because they were all at the All-Star game.

Vancouver brings a disgusting blend of high-end talent scoring talent, especially with the addition of Elias Lindholm just a few days ago, that is hard to combat, so it will be a tall task for Carolina off the rip.
