A day after the Carolina Hurricanes cut their training camp roster from 44 to 30 players, another player has been reassigned as goaltender Yaniv Perets was sent to the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL.

Perets signed with Carolina last season after capturing the NCAA Championship with the Quinnipiac Bobcats.

He appeared in one and a half preseason games for the Hurricanes and stopped 30 of the 34 shots he faced.

The Admirals used to be officially affiliated with Carolina as recent as last year, but they are are now the affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.

However, the Hurricanes did establish an agreement with Norfolk this summer in order to use them for some of their prospects after they and the Chicago Wolves parted ways.

Perets joins Noel Gunler, Justin Robidas, Blake Murray, Griffin Mendel, Anttoni Honka and Ronan Seeley who were all also assigned to Norfolk a day prior.

The reason for the delay on Peret's reassignment is because he served as the backup goaltender for the Canes' final preseason game against the Nashville Predators on Friday.
