The Carolina Hurricanes announced that goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov has been reassigned to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.

What this more than likely hints at is the return of netminder Frederik Andersen.

The Danish netminder has missed the last three games after leaving early in the first period against the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 17 after taking a puck off the helmet.

After the Hurricanes' practice on Wednesday, head coach Rod Brind'Amour hinted that Andersen could be back as early as tonight.

"I'm anticipating he'll give us the go tomorrow and if he does, we'll put him in," Brind'Amour said.

So it appears he's ready and with Antti Raanta still healthy, that leaves no space left in Carolina.

In his callup, Kochetkov posted a 0-3-0 record with a 4.33 goals against average and 0.836 save percentage. Despite the rough looking numbers, Kochetkov played well and was really left out to dry on most nights.

"He was good," Brind'Amour said on Kochetkov after Tuesday's loss to the Lightning. "He kept us in there. Can't fault him on any of the goals. Certainly gave us a chance tonight."

Again, the most important thing for Kochetkov is to play and so he'll continue to get a steady stream of games in the AHL with Syracuse.

He played just one game with the Crunch, winning it, and posted a 2.79 goals against average and 0.912 save percentage
