The Carolina Hurricanes have two prospects that will be representing their home countries in this year's World Junior Championship in Sweden.
Everybody's new favorite prospect, Felix Unger Sorum, who had a tremendous showing with the Canes through training camp and preseason this year, made Team Sweden's roster, where he is once again one of the youngest member on the team.
Through Sweden's first two preliminary games, Unger Sorum is skating on the third line and is getting time on the power play.
In two preliminary matches, Unger Sorum has two goals and a power play assist.
Before joining Sweden, Unger Sorum was playing in the SHL with Leksands IF and has a goal and six points in 17 games.
It's the 18-year-old forward's first season starting in the SHL, Sweden's top men's league.
The other Hurricanes prospect in the tournament is goaltender Jakub Vondras who is playing for Team Czech Republic.
Vondras had been playing in North America for the first time this season as a member of the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL.
He's appeared in 19 games and has a 10-5-2 record with a 0.873 save percentage.
He's appeared in one international friendly so far, getting half a game against Latvia where he allowed just one goal.
The first official game starts Dec. 26 and the round robin will run through Dec. 31, with the championship game being scheduled for Jan. 5.
Sweden will be competing in Group A along with Canada, Finland, Germany and Latvia while the Czech Republic will be in Group B along with USA, Slovakia, Switzerland and Norway.
