With three top forwards sidelined by injury, Carolina turns to the dynamic Swedish prospect to bolster their lineup ahead of a grueling five-game road swing.
The Carolina Hurricanes have made a second straight recall, bringing forward Felix Unger Sorum up from the Chicago Wolves.
The recall is the second straight one the Hurricanes have made, as the team recalled Bradly Nadeau just a day earlier in light of the Jordan Staal injury.
However, then Taylor Hall exited Tuesday's game early with an upper-body injury, prompting the need for another callup.
The Canes are now without three of their top-nine forwards, as Seth Jarvis continues to be on the shelf from offseason shoulder surgery too.
Unger Sorum was one of the final cuts from training camp this year and the 21-year-old winger had quite an impressive preseason, not looking out of place at all and getting all four games.
Last year in the AHL, the Swede tripled his production from his first year in North America and you can see how the game is starting to really come to him now.
The Canes will practice on Friday before departing on a five-game road trip.
