Fans have been able to vote for the Chicago Blackhawks Hall of Fame’s second class for a couple of weeks now. One player from each ballot, Heritage and Modern, will be inducted. In addition to the fan vote, media and alumni have their votes as well.

I was fortunate enough to receive a media vote from the Blackhawks. With my selections, I picked Brent Seabrook from the Modern ballot and Jeremy Roenick from the Heritage ballot.

Modern - Brent Seabrook:

Brent Seabrook was a number one defenseman playing in a number two role, a key factor to the elite Blackhawks teams making multiple deep postseason runs from 2009 to 2015. Seabrook’s overwhelming physical presence defensively, combined with his ability to make a play or blast shots from long distance, made Chicago’s attack a threat every time he was on the ice. His on and off-ice leadership can’t be overstated, either.

Heritage - Jeremy Roenick:

Jeremy Roenick played on some incredible Blackhawks teams early in his career. He was one of the best goal scorers in the history of the league, and his achievements eventually got him into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Roenick never sacrificed defense in favor of his offense, either, which made him a premier center for a long time.
