The Chicago Blackhawks are taking on the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night at United Center. This is going to be a big game for the Blackhawks as they look to win three in a row for only the second time this season.
Chicago practiced on Wednesday morning ahead of their matchup with Ottawa. Nick Foligno, Jason Dickinson, and Philipp Kurashev all skated in the practice with non-contact sweaters. They are all working toward coming back from injury.
Arvid Soderblom is going to be the starting goaltender for Chicago in this game as he took the starter's crease in practice. With a back-to-back coming up later this week into the weekend, you can expect to see more Spencer Knight then. This is a good opportunity for him to rest up for that following his big performance on Monday night.
This is how Chicago will line up in front of Soderblom:
Dach-Bedard-Nazar
Teravainen-Donato-Mikheyev
Slaggert-Athanasiou-Bertuzzi
Maroon-Reichel-Smith
Vlasic-Crevier
Del Mastro-Murphy
Kaiser-Martinez
This lineup is headlined by Connor Bedard who is looking to break the longest point-scoring slump of his career at five games. He will skate with fellow youngsters Colton Dach and Frank Nazar.
Nine players will play who are under the age of 23. This is a very youthful group following some of the injuries and trades made. After winning two games in a row with this youth movement, things are trending upward.
Ottawa is battling for their playoff lives in the Eastern Conference. You can expect Brady Tkachuk and company to show up ready to play hard in this one.
The game can be seen locally on CHSN at 6 PM CT and heard on radio AM 720.
