The Chicago Blackhawks and Sacha Boisvert have agreed to an entry-level deal. His NHL debut is imminent.

On Saturday night, Boston University was defeated by UConn 5-3 in the quarterfinal of the Hockey East Tournament. Chicago Blackhawks prospect, Sacha Boisvert, made it back into the lineup for that game after being a scratch against Vermont in the first round.

Now that his team's season is over, as they won't be qualifying for the NCAA Tournament, he became free to sign his entry-level deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.

On Monday morning, that dream became a reality for Boisvert, signing his entry-level deal with the team that drafted him 18th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Boisvert still has some work visa issues to get through, but he will make his NHL debut once that is taken care of.

After being drafted out of the USHL, Boisvert's freshman NCAA season was a hit at the University of North Dakota. He was one of the best first-year players in the country, scoring 18 goals and adding 14 assists for 32 points in 37 games played. In addition to these offensive stats, Boisvert was known for being a responsible defensive player.

The coach who recruited Bosivert to North Dakota was fired, so he transferred to BU, and things were tough for him there. Boisvert dealt with injuries and inconsistencies, scoring just three goals and 14 assists for 17 points in 26 games played.

It was reportedly an off-ice issue that forced his healthy scratch in the Hockey East first round, which makes you wonder how that will impact him at the pro level. Now, following his signing, he is in the hands of the Blackhawks.

Boisvert's cap hit will be $974,167 over three years. One of the three years is the rest of this season, which will allow him to reach his second contract quicker. This deal will run through 2027-28, where he will become a restricted free agent.
