Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill confirmed good news about the injured Jordan Greenway.
The Chicago Blackhawks lost Jordan Greenway to injury earlier in the week. He tweaked a lower-body injury and was considered day-to-day.
On Saturday, ahead of their morning skate, Greenway was out there with a non-contact sweater. He hasn't played since last Monday's preseason game against the Minnesota Wild, but it was never considered a long-term thing.
After practice, Jeff Blashill confirmed that he won't play against the St. Louis Blues in the preseason finale, but he should be good to go on Tuesday night against the Vegas Golden Knights in the regular-season opener. If that ends up being the case, he won't have missed more than a week with the injury.
The Blackhawks took Greenway back in the deal to land Bowen Byram, but he will be useful to them this season if he is able to stay healthy for most of it. He brings a physical toughness that they don't have much of.
