The Chicago Blackhawks made 5 roster moves, cutting their training camp roster to 32.
The Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday announced a new wave of roster moves as training camp comes closer and closer to ending. These 4 players were sent to the Rockford IceHogs on loan:
- Jiri Felcman
- Martin Misiak
- Marek Vanacker
- Dylan Anhorn
These are four players who are all signed to deals that allow them to be at camp without PTOs. Dylan Anhorn is a little bit older at 27, but the other three are young guys who have potential futures in the NHL.
In the case of Martin Misiak, he continues to get better with every passing year. He was one of Chicago's most impressive players at the Prospect Showcase and is looking to have a big year in Rockford.
As for Vanacker, he will go down to the IceHogs and could be called up as early as this year. As a former first-round pick in 2024, many believe he can be a difference-maker once he reaches the NHL.
Brett Seney, who was at camp on a PTO, was released from that and assigned to Rockford. His NHL tenure has come and gone, but he is one of the better leaders across the entire AHL. Seney will play a role in helping the young IceHogs progress in their pro careers.
Chicago's roster now sits at 32 players. 20 forwards, 9 defensemen, and 3 goalies make up camp going into Thursday's sessions.
