This comes after Nazar was red-hot to end the 2024-25 season. Towards the end, he was right there with Connor Bedard as the team's most productive forward.
Kyle Davidson spoke on Nazar with the release of this news:
“Frank elevated his game last season and has proven himself to be one of the top young talents in the league,” said Davidson. “He drives play using his elite speed and playmaking abilities, creating problems for opponents and opportunities for teammates every night. Frank is an integral piece of our team, and we’re thrilled to have him with us for the next eight seasons.”
Nazar had 26 points (12 goals and 14 assists) in 53 games played with Chicago. Once he was called up, it took some time for him to get going offensively, but he eventually broke out in a big way. Now, there are big expectations for him going forward.
During the spring, Nazar represented Team USA at the IIHF World Championships. USA Hockey captured a Gold Medal there for the first time in 92 years. That will go next to his 2024 IIHF World Junior Gold Medal that he won with Team USA.
Now that he's paid, the next step for Nazar is to become an even more prolific offensive player. He has the speed, skill, and tenacity to make this deal look like a bargain for years to come.
