Patrick Kane is one of the most influential players in the history of the Chicago Blackhawks. The impact he made both on and off the ice can’t be truly quantified. 

Despite being a member of the Detroit Red Wings in the year 2025, his word still carries weight when he talks about the Blackhawks. He still has deep love for the organization, the city, and the fans. 

On Tuesday, Pat Boyle of CHSN released a podcast that he recorded with Kane. They talked about various topics, including current Blackhawks star Connor Bedard.

"He's got some experience in the league now," Kane said when Boyle asked him about Bedard. "He's probably understanding a little bit more of what to expect more on a nightly basis, whether it's the defense he's playing against, or the schedule, or the travel. Maybe how to take care of your body throughout the year."

Kane went on to compare that to himself and how you may "hit a bit of a wall" during the process of getting better. He also spoke about how, despite some of the scoring slumps at times needing to be cleaned up for his overall production, Bedard does things that few players can do because of his pure skill. 

"I think he's got a really bright future." Kane continued. "If I was a Blackhawks fan or someone in the organization, that'd probably be the last of my worries because he's a great player. It also seems like he cares a lot, too. He wants to be good. That's half the battle." 

Patrick Kane has played with and against elite players for a long time. He's also been one of the most productive players in the world since his debut. That level of experience makes his opinion valuable because of what he knows about the game and its players.

Kane seems to think that a breakout is coming for Bedard soon because of his natural skill and desire to be an impactful star in the league. Will that come in 2025-26? It's certainly possible. He's been working all summer to reach new heights with his skating and offensive skills. When dedication meets talent, you usually have good results.
