The Chicago Blackhawks are still without Connor Bedard. There is also a new injury to Jordan Greenway.

The Chicago Blackhawks got back on the ice Wednesday after an off-day Tuesday. Before it began, Connor Bedard was out there. He did some skating drills to work on his cardio, but he was also cleared to take light slap shots.

It is obvious that Bedard is further along in his recovery than many had hoped when he first had his surgery. However, an update from head coach Jeff Blashill confirms that he is not yet close to returning to normal practice with the rest of the team.

This update on Bedard was not the only bit of injury news provided by Jeff Blashill after practice. He also said that Jordan Greenway, who left practice early, tweaked a lower-body injury. For now, Greenway is considered to be day-to-day.

Greenway is not as consequential as Bedard, but he has dealt with far worse injury trouble in recent years. With the extra forwards that the team has, there are plenty of guys to contribute to that 4th line role, but they would like to have Greenway involved as much as possible because of his size, strength, and toughness.

They have sorely lacked a player like Greenway in recent years, so they are hoping for a speedy recovery. Right now, there is no timetable.
