The Chicago Blackhawks have announced their roster for the 2026-27 season.
On Monday, the eve of the 2026-27 NHL season, the Chicago Blackhawks announced their roster in full. With their first match of the year just over one full day away, they revealed the group that they will have with them to start the year.
Before camp started, it would have been surprising to think of them bringing 13 forwards and 8 defensemen, along with their 2 goalies, but that became their clear path by the end of it. Now, it's confirmed with this announcement.
Forwards:
- Tyler Bertuzzi
- Ryan Donato
- Anton Frondell
- Ryan Greene
- Jordan Greenway
- Patrick Kane
- Roman Kantserov
- Nick Lardis
- Andrew Mangiapane
- Oliver Moore
- Frank Nazar
- Cole Smith
- Teuvo Teravainen
Defensemen:
- Bowen Byram
- Ian Cole
- Ethan Del Mastro
- Wyatt Kaiser
- Kevin Korchinski
- Artyom Levshunov
- Sam Rinzel
- Alex Vlasic
Goaltenders:
- Spencer Knight
- Arvid Soderblom
For now, this group is missing Connor Bedard, as he will start his first year as team captain on the Injured Reserve. It won't be long before he's back, and when he is, a roster decision will have to be made.
Based on camp, it seems like either Andrew Mangiapane or Teuvo Teravainen is in a spot where they could be let go when this transaction is needed, but they each have time to prove themselves. There are also other injuries or inconsistencies that could come into play. For game one, either Mangiapane or Teravainen will watch from the press box along with two defensemen: likely Korchinski and Del Mastro.
With the additions made this summer, development for certain young players, and good goaltending, this team is expected to be better than it was in 2025-26.
