Viewers can watch their favorite NHL players portrayed by MultiVersus avatars on Sunday.

TNT Sports, Warner Bros. Games and the National Hockey League have teamed up to present the first-ever MultiVersus NHL Face-Off featuring the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday.

The animated matchup will pair MultiVersus character avatars with Avs and Knights players including Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Johnathan Marchessault and Jack Eichel. The teams were chosen on Sunday, April 7:

Golden Knights: Shaggy, Batman, Bugs Bunny and Wonder Woman
Avalanche: Superman, Velma, Steven Universe and Finn the Human

It's clear who will be portrayed by Superman for the Avs but who will he go head-to-head with as Batman for the Golden Knights?

The environment for the rink in the broadcast will incorporate rotating sets from the MultiVersus game — including the Space Jam Court, Adventure Time Tree Fort, Sky Arena and Trophy’s E.D.G.E.

The NHL official will be Tasmanian Devil with Steve Mears to call the game and Colby Armstrong to provide color commentary.

NHL EDGE puck and player tracking data will be used with Hawk-Eye Innovations optical tracking "to generate realistic character and player avatar movements to best represent the movements of the NHL players on the ice," according to the league.

The puck drops at 1:30 p.m. MT and the animated broadcast will be available  exclusively on truTV and Max’s B/R Sports Add-on. The traditional broadcast can be viewed on TNT and Max’s B/R Sports Add-On with Kenny Albert, Eddie Olczyk and Brian Boucher.
