Colorado looks to carry the momentum from its Game 3 win going into an afternoon Game 4 matchup against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-2 barely 36 hours ago to take a 2-1 lead in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and are ready for tough Game 4 Sunday afternoon.

"They're going to play hard. I mean, they've played hard all three games. I wouldn't expect anything different now their back's against the wall just a little bit here. And obviously, it's a huge game — 3-1 or 2 -2, that's what it is. So they're going to come out and put their best foot forward," head coach Jared Bednar said ahead of Game 4. "I still think we can play better than we have in the first three games even though I like our effort and our compete and a lot of things we've done through the course of the series. I still think we got another step we can take."

The Avs struggled to play a consistent game at the end of the regular season but that has not been the case in the playoffs so far.

"We're reset — by the time our game finished, we evaluated it, we broke it down, we gave it to our guys. I think we've been pretty, like this is as steady as you can go for our team I think through three games and I hope it continues tonight," Bednar said.

The Avalanche have the advantage coming into Game 4 with home ice and up one game in the best-of-seven series, but they are far from comfortable.

"You got to prove it every night — like we're not sitting here celebrating because we're up 2-1, that was three really tough games. I feel like we could be up 3-0, we could be down 3-0. So to me it's just rinse, repeat," Bednar said. "Regardless of the outcome, we've talked to our team about our process and what we have to do to have success and we have to go execute at the right time. We've done it for three games, we're sitting in a good spot now we got to go do it again tonight. Like I'm not going to feel better about this series till it's over and done."
