Avalanche reassign 3 players to Eagles

The Avalanche have sent a few players down to the AHL.

The Colorado Avalanche have done homework on the Winnipeg Jets ahead of their first-round series in the postseason.

The Colorado Avalanche picked up a 5-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 2. With it, they will now head back to Colorado tied with Winnipeg in the series, which is massive.

In preparation for Friday's Game 3, the Avalanche have trimmed their NHL roster. They have reassigned Ivan Prosvetov, Brad Hunt, and Chris Wagner to the Colorado Eagles.

Prosvetov, 25, was recalled to the Avalanche's roster on Monday, but now he is heading right back to the Eagles. This may indicate that Justus Annunen, who has been battling an illness, will be good to go to back up Alexandar Georgiev for Game 3.

Prosvetov appeared in 11 games this regular season with the Avalanche, posting a 4-3-1 record, a 3.16 GAA, and a .895 SV%.

Hunt, 35, has been with the Avalanche for both of their playoff games but did not dress for either contest. The veteran defenseman played the entirety of this regular season with the Eagles, recording 16 goals, 49 points, and a plus-3 rating in 70 games.

Wagner, 32, was placed on waivers on Tuesday. This reassignment indicates that he cleared the waiver wire, and he will now be an option for the Eagles again from here.

Wagner served as a healthy scratch for the Avalanche in both of their playoff games. In 13 regular-season games with the NHL squad this season, he had one goal, one assist, and a plus-3 rating.
