Exclusive Injury Update: Scott Wedgewood Exits Early
Scott Wedgewood was pulled for precautionary reasons, but Jared Bednar provided some insight into the issue.
Miner has only seen two games with the Avalanche so far this season. His season debut was on Oct. 23 against the Carolina Hurricanes, where he came in for Wedgwood after he gave up four goals on 11 shots in a 5-4 loss in a shootout. He was a large part of their comeback as he saved all 20 shots he faced in relief to help the Avalanche get a point. His second appearance was when he started against the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 26 in another overtime loss. He gave up four goals, including the overtime winner against the 24 shots he faced.
Bardakov Earns Landeskog’s Respect By Turning Defense Into A Strength
Zakhar Bardakov has come a long way since training camp.
With the Eagles, he has a 4-1-0-0 record, a 2.16 GAA, and a 0.908 SV% in six games. The most recent game against the San Jose Barracuda, where he finished with a .920 SV% as he stopped 23 of 25 shots to secure the win and record his first point of the season, an assist on Taylor Makar’s opening goal.
Miner saw a majority of the games last season for the Eagles, but this season has been different. Not only has he been with the Avalanche more because of injuries, but the rookie Isak Posch, who came from St. Cloud State University, has also been playing really well. Currently with an 8-3-1 record, a .916 SV%, and a 2.10 GAA so far this season.
