Avalanche superstar Cale Makar is just too good at hockey.

Avalanche superstar Cale Makar is just too good at hockey.

The Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets are playing an important Game 4 right now. If the Avalanche win, they will have a big 3-1 series lead over the Jets. However, if Winnipeg emerges as victorious, the series will be tied at 2-2.

As a result, both teams know the gravity of this matchup. When it comes to the Avalanche, Cale Makar has shown up in a big way. At the time of this writing, he has a goal and an assist in the game.

Makar played a notable role in the Avalanche's second goal, as his shot was tipped in front by winger Valeri Nichushkin. He then followed that immediately with a highlight reel goal.

Makar skated the puck all the way from the Avalanche's zone and stickhandled past multiple Jets players. From there, the superstar defenseman showed great patience with the puck in the Jets' zone before firing a perfectly placed shot over star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck for the goal.

This goal by Makar was simply unreal, and it has also put him in Avalanche's record book. This was the 18th playoff goal of Makar's career, tying him with Sandis Ozolinsh for the most playoff goals by an Avalanche defenseman.

What's so impressive about Makar's achievement of this feat is that he is only 25 years old and in just his fifth NHL season. He has so much time to build on his career postseason numbers and should be significantly ahead of Ozolinsh in playoff goals by the time his career is done because of it.

This is just remarkable stuff from the Calgary native.
