The Colorado Avalanche go up against the high-flying Florida Panthers. The Avalanche sit in second place in the Western Conference with a 25-11-3 record, which is good for 53 points.

On the other hand, the Panthers are third in the Eastern Conference with a 24-12-2 record. They have 50 points in 38 games played.
The Avalanche are second in the league for goals scored per game with 3.67. The Panthers are over half a goal behind with 3.03 goals averaged per game.

The Panthers could potentially be without former Avalanche forward, Evan Rodrigues. Rodrigues was injured early in their last game, only skating for 3:05 against the Vegas Golden Knights.
There is also some concern regarding their captain Aleksander Barkov. Paul Maurice will provide an update at approximately 11:45 Mountain Time this morning on both players. It would be a huge blow to the Panthers if both players cannot dress for the game. Which would present a tremendous opportunity for the Avalanche.
Rodrigues is enjoying a good season so far for the Panthers. He has 24 points in 38 games played - which is good for a 0.63 point per game pace. His previous highest point pace is 0.57, which he achieved last year with the Avalanche.
Game time will be 2 PM Mountain Time.
