With his assist on Martin Necas' goal, Nathan MacKinnon now passes Joe Sakic for most points in Colorado Avalanche history since relocating to Denver, Colorado.
It was MacKinnon's 1016th point and sits third in all-time points in Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche history behind Peter Stastny (1048) and Joe Sakic (1641). It's fair to say that he will pass Stastny this season, but he still has quite a long time to catch Sakic.
