One of the Avalanche's goaltenders was named third star of the week in the NHL.

Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said he didn't "have any concerns with" Valeri Nichushkin this season following an incident in Seattle during the playoffs last season.

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Alexandar Georgiev will forever remember last week, as he was voted into the NHL All-Star Game for the first time in his career. Now, it will be a great moment in his career for more reasons than one.

Georgiev was named the NHL's third star of the week (Jan. 8 through Jan. 14) due to his excellent play. The 27-year-old had a 3-0-0 record to go along with a 1.95 GAA and a .929 SV% in three starts.

Not only was Georgiev's play excellent, but he picked up wins against three top-tier teams in the Boston Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights, and Toronto Maple Leafs. That only makes his outstanding play during the week even more impressive.

The Avalanche will now be hoping that Georgiev will continue to play like this moving forward. When he is on his game, he is a legitimate star, and we saw just that with the way he handled three Stanley Cup contenders last week.
