Boone Jenner took a hard fall in practice on Friday.

Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reported on Sunday that Captain Boone Jenner is expected to be out long-term, and will start the season on IR.

GM Don Waddell told The Athletic, “Boone is going to see another specialist next week. But they’re both going to be gone for a while, for sure.” Waddell says that Dmitri Voronkov, who was spotted in a shoulder sling at yesterday's Ohio State Football game, is also expected to miss extended time.

Portzline says "Each player’s absence might best be measured in months, not weeks."

One can't help but think that this poor franchise is cursed. Year after year this team deals with massive injuries. Every single year this team loses a star player for an extended period.

Now what does Waddell do? Surely he will go out and use the waiver wire to pick up a few forwards to help the Jackets start the season.

As of today, Gavin Brindley and Dmitri Voronkov are on IR, with Boone Jenner to be added.

    When will it stop?
