    Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Charlie Elick has signed an Amateur Tryout Contract with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League.

    Elick, 19, spent the 2024-25 season in the Western Hockey League, splitting time between the Tri-City Americans and the Brandon Wheat Kings. In 33 games with Tri-City, he tallied two goals and six assists for eight points, along with 30 penalty minutes. He added seven assists and 35 penalty minutes in 33 games with Brandon.

    A native of Austria, Elick was selected by the Blue Jackets in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft. He is viewed as a future piece of the team’s blue line, bringing size and grit to the back end. At 6-foot-3 and 206 pounds, he’s known for his physical play and willingness to sacrifice his body for the team.

    He will finish the year on an ATO with the Monsters and signed his entry-level contract on 26th.
