The Columbus Blue Jackets are entering their 25th year in the NHL, and to celebrate, they have released a 25th anniversary logo.
The design highlights the franchise’s legacy and deep Ohio roots. The outline of the logo mirrors the shape of the state of Ohio, which is fitting as the Blue Jackets remain the NHL’s only team in the state — one that has a strong passion for hockey.
Inside the outline, the number 25 is styled in the Blue Jackets' font, the same one used on their jerseys since the 2017-18 season. The silver used in the number and outline reflects the traditional color of a 25th anniversary. The overall design also echoes the etching found on the team’s iconic goal cannon.
A hidden detail includes a metal patina texture that pays tribute to the medals worn by Union Civil War soldiers.
The Blue Jackets also confirmed they will host events and celebrate key players and moments throughout their 25th anniversary season. There will also be specially featured anniversary games that highlight key moments from the team’s history. The Blue Jackets will share more details at a later date.
