The Columbus Blue Jackets have four restricted free agents on the big roster that they need to give qualifying offers to, and then need to sign, if they choose to. Those four are Jordan Harris, Daniil Tarasov, Dmitri Voronkov, and Mikael Pyyhtiä.
One of those RFAs, Mikael Pyyhtiä, has apparently already been given a qualifying offer, according to The Athletic's Aaron Portzline. The offer is set at $942,375. Mikael Pyyhtiä's next contract would probably be in the 2-3 year range, I would imagine.
THN Columbus also confirmed with the Blue Jackets that Pyyhtiä was in fact given his qualifying offer, as it was needed for him to play in the IIHF World Championships in May.
Pyyhtiä was drafted in the 4th round of the 2020 draft, and has been a pleasant surprise for the Blue Jackets. Last season, he played in 47 games for Columbus, scoring 4 goals and totaled 7 points while playing mostly on the bottom line and killing penalties.
For Cleveland, he played in 28 games, including 6 playoff games. In the the regular season, he scored 3 goals and totaled 16 points. In the Calder Cup playoffs, he only had a single a point.
