The NHL trade deadline has come and gone and the Columbus Blue Jackets brought in some reinforcements. 

The Blue Jackets desperately needed a win in New York on Sunday, and they did that just that.

The Blue Jackets claimed Christian Fischer off of waivers from the Detroit Red Wings. They also acquired Luke Kunin from the San Jose Sharks, both will provide both depth and experience to their lineup.

In addition with the trade deadline acquisitions, it looks like more help is on the way. Erik Gudbranson was out on the ice with the team and looks like he could be back sooner than later.

Injuries

  • Erik Gudbranson (upper body) is on Injured Reserve on Oct. 16 (59 Games)
  • Sean Monahan (upper body) is on Injured Reserve retroactive to Jan. 7 (21 Games)
  • Kevin Labanc (shoulder) is on Injured Reserve as of Feb. 21 and out for the season (6 Games)
  • Cole Sillinger is day-to-day with an upper body injury (3 Games)

TOTAL MAN GAMES LOST: 270

The Blue Jackets could be fully healthy as we head closer to the playoffs.

By now, everyone around the NHL should have Zach Werenski in the top two for Norris Trophy voting. He has shown this season he is a top-five defensemen and after last night's game against the New York Rangers, he should be treated as one.
