
The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced they have signed defensemen Ivan Provorov to a seven-year deal that carries an AAV of $8.5 million per season.
The deal comes in a flurry of moves from around the NHL. However, GM Don Waddell gets the deal done and now has Provorov locked up long-term.
This deal now makes Provorov the second highest-paid player on the Blue Jackets behind only Zach Werenski.
The Blue Jackets now have a projected $20 million in cap space to spend when the market opens tomorrow (July 1).
