Columbus Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk's brother Crosby Mateychuk has been drafted into the Western Hockey League (WHL) by the Vancouver Giants.

Mateychuk was drafted in the first round with the 13th overall pick, which gives the Giants a very good offensive-minded defenseman to help build around.

This season with the Eastman Selects U15 AAA, he had 32 goals and 39 assists for 71 points in 31 games.

Much like his brother, Crosby is a defenseman who is built pretty much the same. They both weigh 185 pounds. The only difference is Denton is an inch shorter than his brother.

The 15-year-old is eligible to be drafted in the NHL in 2028-29. If he keeps scoring at this rate, he could turn out to be a first-round pick in the NHL Draft as well.
