Former Columbus Blue Jackets players Seth Jones and Sergei Bobrovsky are looking to change their luck tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Maple Leafs hold a 2-0 series lead, and if the Florida Panthers can’t steal a win tomorrow night, they risk going down 3-0.

Jones was traded to the Panthers from the Chicago Blackhawks before the March 7 NHL Trade Deadline. When he was traded, many expected him to be a high-impact player, but that hasn’t truly been the case.

Yes, he has been good, but in this series, his defense pairing has been exploited and hasn’t been very reliable. In the first two games of the series, he has a goal and an assist but is also -3.

As for Bobrovsky, there was so much talk about how he was going to be the difference-maker in this series. He has been the opposite, allowing nine goals against in just two games.

It seems that the Maple Leafs have found an area he tends to struggle with—over the glove hand. It’s his weakness, and Toronto’s top players have recognized that and taken advantage.

If the Panthers don’t play better defensively and slow down the Maple Leafs’ rush, they are going to have a hard time getting back into this series.

Both Jones and Bobrovsky will need to help lead the way if they still want a chance at winning Round 2.
