Pascal Vincent Gives Injury Update

Head Coach Pascal Vincent gave an injury update to the media today, and it's not good.

  • Jake Bean is out for the season after being injured in last night's game against the New York Islanders. Bean had registered 13 points in 72 games this season. Bean is also an RFA at the end of the season and is eligible for arbitration.
  • Daniil Tarasov was taken out of the game last night as well. There is no update on his injury, but it's assumed it was an injury to the head or neck area. David Jiricek collided with him causing the injury.
  • Elvis Merzlikins is still day-to-day and will not be available for the game against Philadelphia tomorrow.
  • Sean Kuraly also won't play on Saturday due to a lower-body injury. He is skating, however, and was at practice on Friday.

The loss of Jake Bean and Daniil Tarasov will undoubtedly lead to more call-ups from the Cleveland Monsters.

Jet Greaves, who was called up before yesterday's game leaves a huge hole in the Cleveland Monsters net. Malcolm Subban and Pavel Cajan are who is left, but one of them will need to be called up. Due to this, the Monsters have announced the signing of Blake Pietila to an amateur try-out. The Monsters are clinging to their season and tumbling down the standings. They've lost six straight and are 2-7-1 in the last 10 games.

With six games to go, this season can't end soon enough for fans who follow the Columbus Blue Jackets.
