Jordan Dumais had a pair of impaired driving charges dismissed yesterday in Halifax, Nova Scotia. According to the Chronicle Herald, the charges were dropped when the arresting officer failed to show up for court.
Dumais was cited on March 1, 2024, for impaired driving and having a BAC over the legal limit of .08.
Judge Mark Heerema told Dumais after he dismissed all charges, “I remind everyone who appears in front of me that impaired driving is the No. 1 cause of death from criminal acts in Canada. It’s not murder. It’s not manslaughter.”
“You are presumed innocent, and that’s not a commentary on whether this happened or not. I just hope it stands to be a reminder to you in the future, and I wish you all the best.”
Both Dumais and his defense attorney refused to comment.
Dumais played 21 games for the Monsters this past season, scoring 4 goals and totaling 11 points.
