    According to Pierre LeBrun and Aaron Portzline, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Ivan Provorov had extended negotiations over the weekend that went deep into Sunday. Waddell said in a radio interview today that they talked until midnight on Sunday night. 

    LeBrun adds that both sides are expected to talk again today to try to hammer out a deal. 

    After the signing of Fabbro and Waddell not striking any deals for trades this past week before the draft, Provorov seems to be in the driver's seat for a new deal with Columbus.
