The Columbus Blue Jackets and the Florida Panthers facing off tonight and the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline only 1 day away. Now is a great time to revisit the trade history between the two clubs.

In total, there have been six trades, since the Blue Jackets’ expansion year in 2000. Their first trade came on June 22, 2002, and the last one came on March 21, 2022. It is very unlikely that these two teams connect for a trade this deadline. However, this off-season there could be a chance they work out a deal together.

Here’s a breakdown of their trade history:

March 21, 2022: (3 Team Trade Including CAR)

CBJ: Tyler Inamoto

FLA: Egor Korshkov & 2022 6th round pick

CAR: Max Domi

October 8, 2020:

CBJ: Cliff Pu

FLA: Markus Nutivaara

March 3, 2010

CBJ: rights to Matt Rust

FLA: Mathieu Roy

October 4, 2002

CBJ: rights to Petr Tenkrat

FLA: Mathieu Biron

June 23, 2002

CBJ: 2002 9th round pick (#263-Sergei Mozyakin)

FLA: 2003 9th round pick (#264-John Hecimovic)

June 22, 2002

CBJ: 2002 1st round pick (#1-Rick Nash) Panthers option to swap 2003 1st round picks (not exercised)

FLA: 2002 1st round pick (#3-Jay Bouwmeester) Panthers option to swap 2003 1st round picks (not exercised)

If you ask any Blue Jackets fan, they will likely say the biggest trade between these two was the draft pick swap at the 2002 NHL draft that landed them Rick Nash. Rightfuly so, Nash went on to be the face of the franchise for the entire time the franchise has been in existence.
